AMD backs Mercedes-AMG Petronas esports team with gaming gear


The Mercedes-AMG Petronas esports team will use AMD’s play equipment to train, improve performance and encourage competitiveness.

AMD partners with Mercedes-AMG Petronas esport team, the esports arm of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team, to equip the team with computer technology and performance for competitive virtual racing.

Through this partnership, AMD equips the esports team with the combination of AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards, built on the AMD RDNA 2 gaming architecture, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X desktop, core-powered processors for PC gamers with Zen 3 and advanced core architecture Radeon software to enable ultra-low latency frame rates and gameplay. Optimized for esports games, AMD hardware and software technologies will provide drivers with fast response times, a driving experience and an edge for virtual races.

With AMD at the heart of the team’s gaming platforms, AMD Smart Access Memory, AMD Radeon Anti-Lag, AMD FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS), and Ryzen technologies optimize competitive gaming by maximizing performance and are believed to provide a smooth gaming experience.




AMD will also supply gaming systems to a new Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports training center, due to launch later in 2021, in Brackley, UK. This training center will provide AMD-powered gaming equipment to help esports athletes take their game to new levels and support the next generation of promising esports pilots.
